BSIT COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROJECT

As part of the BSIT Community Engagement Project, the department successfully conducted a two-day Coastal Cleanup Drive at Barangay Ibarra, specifically in Purok Divisoria and Purok San Pedro. The initiative aimed to promote environmental responsibility, strengthen community involvement, and encourage sustainable coastal practices among students and residents.

The activity was spearheaded by the BSIT Officers, whose leadership and dedication played a vital role in the smooth execution of the program. Through collective effort and teamwork, participants were able to significantly reduce coastal waste, helping preserve the natural beauty and ecological balance of the shoreline areas.

The success of the coastal cleanup was made possible through the unwavering support and guidance of key institutional leaders, including Lourdes E. Siaton, MST-CS (CAR), BSIT Department Head; Dr. Gemar B. Mori, MPA, NSTP Coordinator; Angelo Cahotoc Perez, SSC President; and Rose Axel P. Fajardo, LPT, OSDS Dean. Their encouragement and commitment underscored the importance of community service as an integral part of academic and civic development.

More than just a cleanup activity, the project served as a meaningful learning experience for the students—instilling values of environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and volunteerism. The BSIT Community Engagement Project continues to stand as a testament to the department’s commitment to creating a positive impact beyond the classroom and fostering a culture of service within the community.
